pricing questions

What hidden costs or expenses can I expect?
None. There are no hardware or software costs, no long distance charges, no service or installation fees, and no phone lines required. The per-call or subscription rate that you choose is the only expense you will incur for using the Call-Em-All voice broadcasting service.  See our pricing plans

Do you charge for calls that aren’t delivered?
No. If you are on a pay-per-call pricing plan, only calls that are answered by a live person or that leave a voicemail message will count against your call balance. If you purchase a subscription plan, you can make unlimited calls.

Which wireless carriers do you support?
Our service is available for the following carriers: Alltel, AT&T, Boost Mobile, Cellcom, Cincinnati Bell, Cellular One, Cellular South, Cricket, Metro PCS, Nextel, nTelos, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, US Cellular, Virgin Mobile, Bluegrass, Centennial Wireless, ECIT, EKN, Immix, Inland Cellular, Illinois Valley Cellular, Revol, West Central Wireless, General Communications, Bell Mobility, Fido Solutions, MTS Communications, Rogers Wireless, SaskTel, Telus Communications, Virgin Mobile Canada.

What does it cost for a customer to receive a text message?
It depends on the carrier and type of plan a customer has.  Message and data rates may apply.

How long can text messages be?
Standard text messages are limited to 160 characters in the US and 140 characters in Canada.

What is a short code?
A short code is a 5 or 6 digit number used to send and receive SMS and MMS messages on cellular networks. Companies that use short codes are approved by the carriers to send text messages into their networks. The Call-Em-All short code for the US and Canada is 292929.

What is a keyword?
A keyword is a short word that will uniquely identify your group.  You will get to set up your keyword after you open a Call-Em-All account.  Your keyword will allow your contacts to automatically join your group by texting join <group keyword> to 292929.

What is SMS?
SMS is short for "Short Message Service".  SMS is the technology behind text messaging.  "SMS" is used as a synonym for a text message or sending a text message.  Most SMS messages are mobile-to-mobile text messages.

What does it mean to Opt-In?
Opting in is when a customer joins a group by sending a text message containing your KEYWORD to our SHORTCODE. Once opted-in the customer has agreed to receive messages from the given group joined.

What does it mean to Opt-Out?
Call-Em-All’s text broadasting service will only send messages to those that have opted in.  A person must text join <group keyword> to 292929 to opt in.

What happens if the group owner inputs a mobile number for a user that has not opted-in to receive their alerts?
Nothing will happen.  Call-Em-All’s text broadasting service will only send messages to those that have opted in.  A person must text join <group keyword> to 292929 to opt in.

How do I send a message to my contacts directly from my mobile phone?
Text messaging contacts from your mobile phone is easy!  Send to Everyone by texting: #all and your message to 292929. Send to a Group by texting: #<group keyword> and your message to 292929.

Are there any restrictions about sending out messages?
Yes. Call-Em-All is not intended to be used for unwanted calls. Each user is responsible for ensuring that their use of the system complies with all applicable laws and all other provisions within our Terms of Use. Please read our Terms of Use thoroughly before completing the signup process.

Will my contact/member list(s) be sold?
No. Please see our Privacy Policy for details of our commitment to you.

technical questions

What states or countries can I call?
Call-Em-All delivers messages anywhere in the 48 continental United States, Hawaii, and Canada.

Can I import a file with all my contacts?
Yes. We can accept Excel spreadsheets, text, and CSV files. Just log in and follow the instructions. If you want to save the list, select “Edit/Manage Lists”. If you want to upload a file to be used a single time, select “New Broadcast”. There is no need to wait for us to import the file for you, and there is never an extra charge for importing files.

Can I create/manage more than one group? Are there limits on the size of my groups?
You can create as many groups and subgroups as you like. There are no limits on the size of groups for pay-per-call pricing plans. Subscription plans limit the number of phone numbers and include unlimited calling.

What happens if the person doesn’t answer when my call is made?
If someone is not available to answer, Call-Em-All will also deliver to an answering machine. If a phone line is busy or someone doesn’t have an answering machine we will attempt to deliver your message 3 additional times (5 minutes later, then 15 minutes later, and again 15 minutes later). You may customize the number of retries to be less than 3.

Will I be able to see the results of my broadcasts?
Yes. When your broadcast is complete, you will receive an email with a summary of the results. You can also check on the results of your current and past broadcast in real-time by logging in to www.call-em-all.com. You will be able to view the results of every call we make.

How should I format a file for importing?
File Requirements:
Excel (.xls) or
Comma Separated Values (.csv or .txt)

Column Order:
Column 1 = Phone Number with Area Code
Column 2 = First Name (Optional)
Column 3 = Last Name (Optional)
Column 4 = Notes (Optional)
Column 5 = Phone 2 (Optional)
Column 6 = Phone 3 (Optional)

Can Call-Em-All deliver messages to a business extension or voicemail account?
Call-Em-All messages must be delivered to a direct line. We cannot deliver messages to any phone system that requires the entering of an extension number or forwarding by a person.

Does Call-Em-All integrate with State and National “Do Not Call” lists?
No. Call-Em-All is not intended to be used for unwanted calls. Therefore, we do not integrate with State and National “Do Not Call” lists. Call-Em-All DOES manage our own Do Not Call list, which all recipients can elect to be placed on by visiting our website and clicking Opt Out.
