Create a custom keyword

Before you can send text messages to a group, they must first opt-in to receive your messages. It’s easy, just text a specific keyword to 292929 to opt-in to a group (i.e. Text “DEMO” to 292929). Create unlimited groups and sub-keywords. Did we mention, keywords are FREE?

Keyword FAQ:

- What is 292929 (short code)?

A short code is a 5 or 6 digit number used to send & receive SMS messages on a cellular networks. Our short code is 292929. All messages are sent from 292929, never showing your phone number.

- What are sub-keywords?

If you're a church and your keyword is “CHURCH”, you can create sub keywords for your choir (ie; CHURCH.CHOIR), youth group (ie; CHURCH.YOUTH), or vacation bible school (ie; CHURCH.VBS).

- Why a keyword (SMPP vs. SMTP)?

We use SMPP delivery. This is just like sending a text to a friend, family member. Messages go through the cellular networks. SMTP is a back door method and goes through an email gateway. Click here to learn more.

- Does it cost anything for people to opt-in?

No. It does not cost you anything for people to join. For recipients, standard message and data rates may apply.

- How do I manage contacts, and new subscribers?

It’s easy – trust me! You can manage your new subscribers, move them into groups, in your account inbox, or contacts page. Check out the video to the right.

- Can I create a custom Auto-Reply for when they opt-in?

Yes. You can customize an automated reply when someone opt-ins. Typical auto replies include, thank you message, special offer, or announcement.

- How long can text messages be?

Standard text messages are limited to 160 characters in the US and 140 characters in Canada.

- Can I launch a group text from my phone?

- If people reply to a message, can I view their replies?

Yes. If you send a message to 100 people and 20 reply, we will display those replies and who they came from.
